How is Potenco Different?

In today's world of recruitment agencies are for the most part "generalists" or "industry agnostic", working across multiple sectors and functions. The executive search firms on the other hand are somewhat more specialized, however they are - for the most part- focused on "business functions" (e.g. Sales, Accounting,...) still "general" to multiple industries or they only focus on senior level positions (C-suite, President, General Manager, Vice President (all guises) Director and Senior Management). In both scenarios, there is a tendency towards "generalized" focus. These recruitment agencies and search firms are still limited to the general outset of headhunting without having an in-depth knowledge of the industries they are recruiting for. Strategy to cover more grounds and opportunity to hire over a broader spectrum of industries and markets, results in lack of in-depth knowledge within each industry and consequently inability to fully vet out quality candidates. How do you assess each candidate's level of knowledge in the industry you are searching for in specific to their roles? This lack of knowledge, generally results in longer search cycles, likelihood of poor assessment of the candidates and hence the short-list, and ultimately, resulting in higher cost to hiring companies with a higher risk that they may need to go through the recruitment cycle again if the selection is not successful. .

Shah’s passion for energy & sustainability led to establishment of Potenco, where he works to connect professionals in the clean energy and sustainability fields with companies and organizations seeking top talent.
With over 20 years of global general management experience in several domains and industry segments including Energy and Construction, Renewable Energy Solutions, ESCO services, Shah has created a special set of skills able to identify and match top talent to various roles in clean tech, renewable energy & sustainability, smart buildings and IoT space. 

Among his various roles, Shah was responsible hiring and leading teams in various capacities including energy's Demand-Side and Performance Contracting (ESCO), Supply-Side as DES-Distributed Energy Systems e.g. Battery Energy Storage Systems, Micro-Grid solutions, Solar, Renewables Energy, e-Mobility & EVSE (Electric Vehicle Charging Stations), Geo-thermal, Hydrogen and other Alternative Fuel technologies; also with many years in Mission Critical and Data Center vertical and telecom; Shah also promotes the Healthy Building initiatives across Canada at other capacities.

Shah holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Computer Science, Associate's degree in Informatics, and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Vlerick Leuven Gent Management School in Belgium, and a LEED Green Associate. When not at work, Shah enjoys playing tennis with his son, playing music, as well as traveling with family.
