Our Client, a technological subsidiary of a Canadian Utility, is a leading full storage system service provider offering customized battery energy storage systems, control software, installation, commissioning, operation, inspection and management, and an end-of-life recycling program. Their products are installed on multiple locations of the electric grid and are monitored in real time by their operators. They are need of people like you to achieve energy & sustainability goals, and conquer the field of energy storage.

As part of the electrical engineering team, the incumbent will work in conjunction with the operations groups as well as the development engineering team in place as an electrical technician on the new storage systems. The incumbent will be responsible for assembling the various prototypes and installing them in their test facilities.

Roles & Responsibilities (Version Française, ci-dessous)

Support the development team during the design and assembly of prototypes;

• Carry out the assembly from the preliminary plans;
• Highlight and annotate plans to reflect changes made during assembly;
• Suggest areas for improvement.

Support the project team during the installation, commissioning and maintenance of storage systems in operation;

• Set up and install the equipment in the cabinets or frames of storage systems;
• Perform the wiring of electrical cabinets, remote management and automatons;
• Perform installation and commissioning work on the various electrical equipment and automatons for the operation of storage systems;
• Carry out tests, measurements and adjustments prior to power-up;
• Intervene on automation related to electrical equipment.

Support the development team during the installation, operation and maintenance of the test equipment used in its laboratories;

• Ensure routine maintenance interventions on equipment (analyze and translate alert messages and intervene accordingly);
• In the event of a breakdown, identify the malfunction of the systems;
• Replace defective parts and ensure the recommissioning of devices;
• Provide solutions for improvement as needed.

• Make technical intervention reports (measurement readings, settings, etc.)
• Support the purchasing team in the selection and inventory of electrical and mechanical consumables.
• Work with SolidWorks Electrical (or equivalent);

Education & Experience

Secondary school diploma in the field of electrical engineering; with

• 10-15 years of industry experience; or

College diploma in the field of electrical engineering; with

• 5-10 years of industry experience;

Specific Knowledge Areas

• In-depth knowledge of wiring and identification techniques (low and high voltage wiring, power components, signals, etc.);
• In-depth knowledge of electrical engineering and electricity
• In-depth knowledge of reading and drawing diagrams;
• Basic concepts in electronics (components, systems and functions, etc.);
• Knowledge of new standards and safety rules in force in relation to his profession;
• Knowledge of the industrial field and/or the field of power electricity.
• Basic concepts in automation and automatic;
• Basics in electromagnetic compatibility, industrial design, machining and shaping in electrical and mechanical construction;
• Basic notions in networking;
• Knowledge of lockout methods for electrical safety (CSA Z462);
• Laboratory work for the assembly of prototypes;
• Knowledge of Computer Aided Design (CAD) software such as Solidworks Electrical an asset;
• Have a valid driver's license.

LANGUAGES:

• French at Advanced level (9) orally and in writing;
• Beginner level English (4) oral and written;

Votre rôle et principales responsabilités

Supporter l'équipe de développement lors de la conception et de l'assemblage des prototypes ;

• Effectuer l'assemblage à partir des plans préliminaires ;
• Surligner et annoter les plans afin de refléter les changements effectués lors de l'assemblage ;
• Suggérer des pistes d'amélioration.

Supporter l'équipe projet lors de l'installation, de la mise en service et de la maintenance des systèmes de stockage en opération ;

• Implanter et installer le matériel dans les armoires ou les châssis de systèmes de stockage ;
• Effectuer le câblage d'armoires électriques, de télégestions et d'automates ;
• Effectuer des travaux d'installation et de mise en service des différents équipements électriques et automates pour l'opération des systèmes de stockage ;
• Procéder aux tests, mesures et réglages préalables à la mise sous tension ;
• Intervenir sur les automatismes en lien avec les équipements électriques.

Supporter l'équipe de développement lors de l'installation, de l'opération et de la maintenance des équipements de tests utilisés dans ses laboratoires ;

• Assurer les interventions de maintenance courante sur les équipements (analyser et traduire les messages d'alerte et intervenir en conséquence) ;
• En cas de panne, repérer le dysfonctionnement des systèmes ;
• Remplacer les pièces défectueuses et assurer la remise en service des appareils ;
• Apporter des solutions d'amélioration au besoin.

• Faire des comptes rendus techniques d'intervention (relevé de mesures, réglages, etc...)
• Supporter l'équipe des achats dans la sélection et l'inventaire des consommables électrique et mécanique.
• Travailler avec SolidWorksElectrical (ou équivalent) ;

Éducation et expérience

Diplôme d'étude secondaire dans le domaine de l'électrotechnique; avec

• 10-15 années d'expérience dans l'industrie; ou

Diplôme d'étude collégial dans le domaine de l'électrotechnique; avec

• 5-10 années d'expérience dans l'industrie;

Connaissances spécifiques

• Connaissance approfondie des techniques de câblage et de repérage (câblage basse et haute tension, composants de puissance, signaux...);
• Connaissance approfondie en électrotechnique et en électricité
• Connaissance approfondie en lecture et réalisation de schémas;
• Notions de base en électronique (composants, systèmes et fonctions, etc.);
• Connaissance des nouvelles normes et des règles de sécurité en vigueur en rapport avec sa profession;
• Connaissance du domaine industriel et/ou du domaine de l'électricité de puissance.
• Notions de base en automatisme et automatique;

Notions de base en compatibilité électromagnétique, en dessin industriel, en usinage et en mise en forme en construction électrique et mécanique;

Notions de base en réseautique;

Connaissance des méthodes de cadenassage pour la sécurité électrique (CSA Z462);

• Travail en laboratoire pour l'assemblage des prototypes;
• Connaissance des logiciels de Conception assisté par ordinateur (CAO) tel que SolidworksElectrical un atout;
• Avoir un permis de conduire valide.
