SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the Service Manager, the Service Technician will be responsible for providing clients with technical service as well as constant and efficient after-sales service and support in the areas of Card Access, Intrusion Monitoring, Fire Monitoring and CCTV systems. The candidate will perform preventative maintenance, emergency maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs, as well as end-user assistance regarding the proper utilization of these systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Attending to all service calls received from customers via the company dispatcher or directly. Contacting customers following the notification of each service call as per procedures. Repairing, using various tools and measuring meters, defective equipment in order to restore it to proper working condition
  • Assuring quality control through the completion of all scheduled preventive maintenance calls for assigned customer's equipment in accordance with the terms of service agreements
  • Providing technical and user support by directing and assisting clients in the operation of the products thereby assuring their most efficient use
  • Managing service call routing in order to maximize time utilization
  • Diligently completing and submitting work orders as per set procedures. All work orders completed at the client's site must contain serial numbers of equipment and must be signed by the client's designated authority
  • Participating in training sessions as required by the company in order to maintain adequate levels of skills and knowledge
  • Updating the dispatcher on the status of all calls, completed or work-in-progress, on a per call basis
  • Maintaining service vehicle stock of all parts, supplies and equipment. Ensuring that all used stock is diligently recorded on work orders
  • Performing product installations, reconfigurations, removals or relocations as required from time to time as well as site surveys as required
  • Participating in the quarterly inventory counts of vehicles or warehouses as required

REQUIREMENTS:

  • College diploma in computer science, electronics, or telecommunications an asset
  • 2-3 years' experience installing access control systems and/or CCTV equipment, and/or fire alarms systems
  • Valid Class M Limited Specialized Trade Electrician's license
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Valid driver's license and clean drivers abstract
  • Skills in computer networking LAN/WAN
  • Prior training in WSIB, WHIMS and other safety programs would be an asset
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to climb ladders
  • Ability to work on call and out of town when necessary
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills

  • Candidates must be willing to relocate to any of the required areas if outside of the map.
  • Eligible to work in Canada without restrictions
