Interior Designer
***ATTENTION: This is an ON-SITE/HYBRID role in Markham, ON. Candidates must be able to relocate if outside of the province or if in the province, be able to commute to the office as required.
Full-time, Permanent, 8-hour shift Monday to Friday, Overtime and weekends may be required***

We are searching for an experienced Interior Designer to join their team in Markham, Ontario. The successful candidate will have previous experience in assisting experienced designers who have worked with new home and condo developments and property developers in Canada for at least 5 years and will perform design, layout, coordinating, estimating and management tasks under the direction of the Sales Team.

Roles & Responsibility
- Create interior finish design packages to suit each project's needs and present same to construction team for implementation
- Prepare drawings to show implementation plans
- Correlate shop drawings and related documents
- Source Materials
- Estimate and take off quantities from drawings
- Generate Change Orders
- Consider materials that conform to project schedule
- Manage changes to schedule and cost effectively, and report on same
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum of five (5) years' experience in an interior design position with at least three (3) years within the new construction midrise/low rise residential building industry (Canadian experience mandatory)
- Certificate or degree in design or architecture an asset
- Understanding of architectural and supporting engineering drawings
- Ability to source materials
- Understanding of permit, preconstruction and close out process
- Understanding of trade and project schedules
Highly Desired
- Strong communication skills, knowledge of MS office, ability to prepare project documentation, agendas, meeting minutes and reports
- Familiarity with construction management and estimating software, working knowledge and experience with BIM software a definite asset
- Self-motivated with organizational, time management and problem solving skills
- Proficiency in Mandarin
Logistics
- Valid driver's license
- Work without requiring sponsorship for employment visa status (Already in Canada)
- Willing to relocate to ON if outside of the province on their own
- Commute to the office/site as needed -8-hour shift Monday to Friday, Overtime and weekends may be required.
