Project Coordinator - MEP (Mechanical | Electrical | Plumbing) - Real Estate Development

***ATTENTION: This is an ON-SITE/HYBRID role in Ontario with head office in Markham ON. Candidates must be able to relocate if outside of province and be able to communicate to various sites and office commute as required.

Full-time, Permanent, 8-hour shift Monday to Friday, Overtime and weekends may be required***

We are searching for an experienced Project Coordinator - MEP - Real Estate to join their team in Markham, Ontario. The successful candidate will have previous experience in assisting the project management team and will perform administrative, coordinating and management tasks under the direction of the Project Manager-MEP.

Roles & Responsibilities.

  • Estimate and take off quantities from drawings
  • Work with municipalities and related government entities
  • Deal with inspectors and Ministry of Labour
  • Handle Pre Delivery Inspections
  • Correlate shop drawings and related documents
  • Order materials to conform to project schedule
  • Generate Request For Information documents, Change Orders
  • Help manage staff and trades on site and monitor performance
  • Manage changes to schedule and cost effectively, and report on same

Qualifications & Skills.

  • Minimum of three (3) years' experience in a MEP- project coordination and management position within the midrise/low rise residential building industry
  • College degree in business, architecture or technology, mechanical or electrical engineering an asset
  • Understanding of architectural drawings and building codes (MEP for residential in specific)
  • Understanding of permit, preconstruction and close out process
  • Able to understand trade and project schedules
  • Strong communication skills, knowledge of MS office, ability to prepare project documentation, agendas, meeting minutes and reports
  • Familiarity with construction management and estimating software, working knowledge and experience with BIM software a definite asset
  • Self-motivated with organizational, time management and problem solving skills
  • Valid driver's license
  • Proficiency in Mandarin is highly preferred
