Our Client, a technological subsidiary of a Canadian Utility, is a leading full storage system service provider offering customized battery energy storage systems, control software, installation, commissioning, operation, inspection and management, and an end-of-life recycling program. Their products are installed on multiple locations of the electric grid and are monitored in real time by their operators. They are need of people like you to achieve energy & sustainability goals, and conquer the field of energy storage.
As a member of the electrical engineering team, the incumbent will work in conjunction with the operating groups as well as the corporate engineering team in place as a high and medium power specialist. The incumbent will be responsible for performing product design and deployment.

Role & Responsibilities (Version Française, ci-dessous)
At the level of detailed electrical engineering you will have to:
- Design control panel, harness and cable as well as power panel;
- Select components from suppliers;
- Optimize design to reduce costs;
- Sizing (cables, fuses);
- Calculation of short circuit, arc flash;
- Calculation of thermal heating, voltage drop;
- Sign the plans for the construction of the products
In connection with electrical power you will have to:
- Perform AC and DC system design;
- Coordinate protection;
- Validate arc flash energies.
- Work with SolidWorks Electrical (or equivalent);
- Work with ETAP (or equivalent);
- Support the manufacturing teams;
Education & Experience
- University degree in electrical engineering;
- 5-10 years of engineering experience;
- 5 years of design experience including reviewing plans as a team and signing construction plans and final plans;
- Knowledge of the industrial field and/or the field of power electricity.
- Be a member of the Order of Engineers of Quebec (OIQ);
- Have a valid driver's license.
Specific knowledge Areas
- Knowledge of lockout methods for electrical safety (CSA Z462);
- Knowledge of the standards of the Canadian Electrical Code and the American National Electrical Code (NEC);
- Knowledge of UL standards;
- Knowledge of AC/DC power conversion system;
- Knowledge of automation systems;
- Knowledge of SolidWork PDM (or equivalent);
- Knowledge of ETAP software;
- Laboratory work for the assembly of prototypes;
LANGUAGES
French and English spoken and written

Rôle et principales responsabilités
Au niveau de l'ingénierie électrique détaillée vous aurez à :
- Effectuer la conception de panneau de contrôle, de harnais et de câble ainsi que de panneau de puissance ;
- Sélectionner les composantes auprès de fournisseurs ;
- Optimiser la conception afin de réduire les coûts ;
- Dimensionnement (cables, fusibles) ;
- Calcul court-circuit, arc flash ;
- Calcul échauffement thermique, chute de tension ;
- Signer les plans pour construction des produits
En lien avec l'électrique de puissance vous devrez :
- Effectuer la conception de système AC et DC ;
- Faire la coordination de protection ;
- Valider les énergies d'éclair d'arc.
- Travailler avec SolidWorks Electrical (ou équivalent) ;
- Travailler avec ETAP (ou équivalent) ;
- Supporter les équipes de fabrication ;
éducation et expérience:
- Diplôme d'étude universitaire en génie électrique;
- 5-10 années d'expérience en ingénierie;
- 5 années d'expérience en conception incluant la révision de plans en équipe et la signature des plans pour construction et des plans finaux ;
- Connaissance du domaine industriel et/ou du domaine de l'électricité de puissance.
- Être membre de l'Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ);
- Avoir un permis de conduire valide.
